Brief Overview:
As a Senior QA Engineer at Amwell, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the quality of our telehealth products. Working remotely with a dedicated QA team, you'll lead the creation, execution, and maintenance of manual and automated test suites to ensure the highest standards of care for our customers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks (UI with Playwright, API with RestAssured, performance) with a focus on scalability and modularity.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient test automation scripts in languages like TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Collaborate with QA and DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, AWS, reporting, etc.).
- Build internal tools and utilities to streamline testing, deployment, and developer workflows.
- Work closely with developers, QA, and product managers to define test strategies and improve overall test coverage and release confidence.
- Monitor and troubleshoot automation failures and provide root cause analysis for flaky tests and build issues.
- Support the evolution of the automation strategy and advocate for best practices in testability, maintainability, and observability.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a software development/QA/SDET automation role
- Proficient in both scripting and object-oriented programming (OOP) languages, such as, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Strong background in test automation, particularly in API/Web Services, Web UI Testing and Mobile Testing
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks, ensuring scalability, reusability, and maintainability
- Strong background in API testing with tools like Postman, Rest-Assured, or equivalent
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
- Strong Experience with source control (Git) and CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub
- Hands-on experience testing one or more cloud-based applications and services, particularly AWS, Azure, and GCP, including S3, Blob Storage, Cloud Functions, API Gateways, and cloud monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and share automation best practices.
