Brief Overview:

The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and improving the Amwell Devops Team. The platform incorporates a wide variety of features in providing world-class telehealth solutions through scalable web APIs, video Infrastructure and other technologies. This role requires working closely with the members of our engineering and operations teams, building and maintaining production environments in AWS and other Cloud Solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

-Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring efficient and effective operations of our AWS infrastructure.

-Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Terraform scripts to manage infrastructure as code.

-Manage Kubernetes clusters using Helm for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications.

-Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, ensuring seamless integration and deployment processes.

-Utilize shell scripting and Python to automate system tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Support and troubleshoot production infrastructure issues on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.

-Implement and manage log collection solutions, primarily Elasticsearch, for system monitoring and analysis.

-Work with Redis for caching solutions and optimize database performance with Aurora PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and secure cloud solutions.

Ensure compliance with security standards and maintain necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

-Minimum of 5 years of AWS production experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of cloud services and infrastructure management.

-At least 5 years of experience with Terraform, showcasing proficiency in infrastructure as code.

Solid experience with Helm and Kubernetes, managing containerized applications in production environments.

-Proven expertise with Gitlab CI/CD, implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.

-Proficient in shell scripting, particularly bash, for automation and system management tasks.

-Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining production infrastructure on AWS platforms.

-Familiarity with log collection solutions, preferably Elasticsearch, for monitoring and analyzing system performance.

-Competence in Python programming for automation and integration tasks.

-Experience with Redis for caching and in-memory data storage.

-Knowledge of databases such as Aurora PostgreSQL and MongoDB for robust data management solutions.

-AWS MKS (Kafka) experience is a plus, indicating an ability to handle real-time data streams.
