Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end accounts close and management accounts preparation including all balance sheet reconciliations and profit/loss analysis in close collaboration with the Finance Team. Follow up and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations & processes within the company, ensuring strict adherence to defined policies and procedures.
- Management of research grant financial reporting and R&D tax credits claims.
- Business partnering with other functions in the business in order to determine month end accruals.
- Support revenue accounting processes in line with IFRS 15/FRS 102 and company policies.
- Lead credit control operations including monitoring customer accounts and contacting customers to collect outstanding debts.
- Managing operations of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Liaising with external stakeholders including tax advisors and auditors in support of statutory obligations.
- Lead continuous process improvement within the finance department.
- Ad-hoc projects will feature strongly as the company continues to grow rapidly.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Part qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CIMA) in advanced stages of completing qualification.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, GSheets, GDocs, etc), MS Excel, Word.
- Experience using Xero ERP system is a distinct advantage.
- Experience working in a fast paced environment with the ability to manage a significant volume of work.
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards (FRS 102), procurement, and project management.
- Ability and experience to make a significant contribution to the development of efficient and effective processes and procedures, and innovation regarding same.
- Ability to analyze financial data and produce well-judged solutions to complex problems
- Ambitious, energetic and motivated individual essential.
- Must have a proactive “can-do” attitude with a strong work ethic that drives to always achieve targets/deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Adaptability & accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, adhering to tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with Pleo expense management system is advantageous.
