About this Role (Responsibilities)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Paralegal to join our in-house legal team at a leading digital pathology company based in the UK/Ireland. The candidate can be based in the UK or Ireland.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative industry while contributing to the success of our organization and the key responsibilities are outlined below.

  • Assist the legal team in various legal matters, including contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation.
  • Oversee the company's contract management process, including tracking, organising, and maintaining contracts and related documentation.
  • Assist with legal compliance efforts, including conducting legal research and analysis, monitoring regulatory changes, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to manage intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright registration, monitoring and enforcing intellectual property rights.
  • Conduct legal research on a range of topics, analysing statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents to provide relevant and up-to-date information to the legal team.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including NDAs, pilot agreements and service agreements and other legal documents as required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including different departments, to provide legal advice and guidance on various matters while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of legal research, templates, and other relevant legal resources for easy access and reference by the legal team.
  • Assist in general administrative tasks such as managing calendars, scheduling meetings, organising legal files, and providing administrative support to the legal team as needed.

About You (Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working as a paralegal or in a similar legal support role, preferably in-house at a technology or healthcare-related company.
  • Experience in contracts, compliance, and intellectual property is advantageous but not essential.
  • Solid understanding of contract law, corporate governance, intellectual property, and legal research methodologies. Familiarity with healthcare, technology, or life sciences sectors is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey legal concepts and information to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to research and analyse legal issues independently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in contract reviews, legal documents, and other deliverables.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using legal research databases, document management systems, and Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with contract management software is preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, while also being able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.

Desirable

  • Experience working within pathology, laboratory, oncology, academic medical centres and/or clinical services.
  • Experience with Digital Pathology.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or pathology services specifically in the UK/Republic of Ireland.
  • Familiarity with clinical guidelines and regulations.

Work Environment

  • This position is a Remote / Field-based position; the work environment shall be considered as the user’s home working location.
  • This position will require remote collaboration with associates on GMT, Central European Time, plus US Time Zones (PST through EST).
  • On occasion, candidate may be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events.
