Cubic is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Test Automation Manager, who is committed to their work, and capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment to lead the Test System Team within the DevOps and Quality Assurance group.

This team is responsible for providing test automation and performance testing solutions, to support the Cubic engineering teams by building and maintaining test automation frameworks and tooling.

The Test Automation Manager will also be responsible for our Test Device Management, maintaining a connectivity lab and collaborating with third parties on connectivity and device testing, alongside automating end to end test flows to include hardware devices where possible.

The successful candidate is expected to bring an open, collaborative and innovative approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving best-in-class test automation principles within the engineering group working as a Senior Subject Matter expert.
  • Working closely with Engineering Managers and architecture to align and implement best practices.
  • Owning, expanding and maintaining the Test Automation and Performance Testing Frameworks.
  • Maintaining ownership of a connectivity lab and test devices – supporting end to end test scenarios.
  • Driving efficiency in the team to maximise customer value and minimise waste including a reduction in cycle time, and improved Self-Service capabilities
  • Leading the team through an evolution in Test Automation principles and frameworks.
  • Providing guidance to direct reports in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and in achieving company initiatives.
  • Driving Lean & Kanban principles and focusing on continuous process improvement.
  • Tracking metrics and data - communicating with the team and upper management.
  • Staying abreast of the latest trends in Test Automation and Performance Engineering.
  • Working with the team, facilitating technical discussions, aiding in the decision-making process, documenting/communicating outcomes clearly with the team.
  • Building high performing teams of innovative systems professionals by mentoring, coaching and developing internal talent and recruiting industry top talent.
  • Investigating technical issues, removing blockers and distributing engineering tasks amongst the team members.
  • Coordinating implementation of necessary tools / environments and devices for test automation engineers, within the established Technology Radar maintained by the Architecture Team.
  • Integrating with and expanding on Engineering Quality Dashboards to provide standardised test automation visibility and insights across the engineering group.
