The Role

As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Procurement. The Director of Procurement will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the procurement function within our organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this is a newly created position aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency and ensuring the seamless flow of goods and services critical to our international operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and values. The Director of Procurement will be responsible for establishing processes, policies and procedures to efficiently and effectively enable spend owners such as business units and functional partners to maximize the value they receive from suppliers to meet their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to support the company's objectives and international expansion plans.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business needs and anticipate future requirements.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure a reliable and diverse supply chain.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to optimize value and mitigate risks.

Cost Optimisation:

  • Implement cost-effective procurement processes without compromising on quality or service levels.
  • Conduct regular market analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and stay informed about industry trends.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to procurement activities.

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring terms are favourable and aligned with the company's needs.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on procurement performance.
  • Analyse procurement data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
