The Role

We are looking for a Director of Data Science & Engineering who thrives on working in a fast-paced, highly flexible environment. This is a senior leadership position in the Technology organisation reporting directly to the CTO. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence Analysts to drive the development and delivery of advanced data-driven products and solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, leveraging data assets to enhance business outcomes, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and enhance business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence Analysts.
• Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Ensure the team's professional development and growth.
• Work with the Product team to develop and execute a comprehensive data product strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for leveraging data assets to create innovative data products and solutions.
• Oversee the end-to-end development of data products, from ideation to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, network engineers, to integrate data products into our offerings.
• Establish and maintain data governance practices, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Implement data quality measures and continuously improve data management processes.
• Drive the development of data analytics capabilities to derive actionable insights from data.
• Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization by delivering meaningful business intelligence and dashboards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data science and engineering.
• Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance our data science and engineering capabilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
