The Role0
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Network Operations Engineer who is committed to their work, and should be comfortable working in a fast paced, highly flexible environment. The role will work on a 24/7 shift rotation where engineers will be responsible for ensuring maximum possible service availability and performance for Cubic’s customers. Sitting within the Network Engineering team, Network Operations are responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining the network, driving incident management and delivering technical support and customer service as part of the overall Network organisation.
Responsibilities of this role:
- Provide network operations support in a 24x7x365 environment
- Day to day network performance and capacity monitoring
- Network troubleshooting and fault analysis
- Following playbooks to resolve network issues
- Anticipating potential operational risks and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate
- Tracking and documenting network incidents and compiling incident reports
- Managing and resolving incidents and communicating incident status
- Communicating with and management of vendors during vendor incidents
- Trouble ticket generation with third parties and response management
- Escalation of major incidents to Level 4
- Management of trouble tickets and identification of and escalation of recurring issues
- Participate in improvement of escalation and incident response strategies
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Telecoms engineering background
- Ability to analyse problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Working knowledge of 2G, 3G and LTE
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Familiar with the following technologies: Sigtran, Diameter, GTP
- Commitment to provide a high quality and professional service
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to prioritise work tasks and work using own initiative with minimal supervision
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- ITIL v4 Foundations
- CCNA
- Experience with Monitoring tools such as Grafana, PRTG, SolarWinds, Power BI.
