We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Sales Director to spearhead our efforts in expanding partnerships and driving growth within the Agriculture and Transportation Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) sectors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both industries, a proven track record of successful business development, and the ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders. As the Business Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new opportunities, forging strategic alliances, and winning new business.
Responsibilities of this role:
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients within the Agriculture and Transportation OEM sectors and wider eco-system.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to win new business and drive revenue growth, including setting sales targets, forecasting, and monitoring performance metrics.
- Identify and qualify potential customers, establish strong business relationships, and cultivate a robust sales pipeline.
- Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential opportunities, tracking progress and regularly reporting to senior management.
- Relationship Building: Extensive experience establishing relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers and different levels across organisations. Comfortable proactively engaging with clients to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure satisfaction throughout the partnership lifecycle.
- Negotiation: Lead the bid team through negotiations for partnership agreements, pricing, and terms while ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both parties.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of business development strategies.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in B2B sales, preferably in enterprise software solutions.
- Familiarity with automotive connectivity technologies, telematics, IoT, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Direct experience working with clients within the Automotive, Agriculture and Transportation industry to identify business solutions will be a significant advantage.
- Strong understanding of the agricultural vehicle market, including key players, customer pain points, and emerging trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders, including C-level executives, engineers, and product managers.
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales cycles, manage complex negotiations, and close high-value deals.
- Ability to confidently represent Cubic’s solution and establish credibility as a subject matter expert in Automotive IoT solutions.
- Results-oriented mindset with a passion for exceeding targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into actionable product recommendations.
- Exceptional presentation skills and/or public speaking experience.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events (estimated 25-30% travel).
